How to use SEO Browser

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

While we at Anduro use SEOBrowser every day we also have many users outside of our organizaztion. Someone contacted us recently and asked us to walk them through how to use the tool.

So I marked up a Print Screen of the website she was concerned about and thought I would share it here on the SEOBrowser Blog:

So the first thing I see is that they have a single Long Tail keyword in the title tag - ‘Real Estate Services Northwestern Houston.’ The site does work for this term, but not for any of the shorter more commonly searched terms such as ‘Houston Real Estate.’

Secondly, I can see that they don’t have any website tracking software such as Google Analytics.  They may have a website tracking service from their hosting service. However, we prefer that our customers use something a little more robust.

I notice that they don’t have a Robots.txt file.

Finally, they have a 302 redirect from BrendaWhite.com to BrendaWhite.com/home.asp. A 302 redirect is a temporary redirect and a 301 is a permanent redirect.  Search engines prefer the 301 redirect.  Here is an excellent graphical explanation: 301 vs 302 redirects.
